Buns without Yeast

Easy buns made without yeast. Perfect for your afternoon tea or even for a burger! No waiting for it to rise, instantly ready to go.

Ingredients:

  • 300 gr flour (2,5 cups) 
  • 5 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1,25 dl plant based milk (0,6 cups)
  • 75 gr plant based butter or margarine (0,3 cups)
  • Seeds for sprinkling (I chose sesame)

Side-note: feel free to add any seeds or nuts to the dough as well. I added a teaspoon of flax seeds.

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit)
  • Mix flour and baking powder in a big bowl.
  • Add plant based butter and mix with your hands (do not melt the butter).
  • Add milk and knead on a table top, add more flour if it's too sticky.
  • Cut into six even pieces and form into buns.
  • Add your buns to baking paper on a baking tray and brush with plant based milk and drizzle sesame on top.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes till golden.
  • Enjoy!
